Local Poetry ProgramsIf your organization wants to teach folks about local Minnesota culture, history and natural resources in a fun, engaging, and creative way, Velvet Rasputin LLC's local poetry programs will be a great fit! Each program will introduce participants to simple poetic styles, while educating them about wonderful local things. It's a great activity for curious folks and poets of all ages.Look for these informative presentations in the events section, or contact Velvet Rasputin LLC to bring this event to your town.These programs were developed with a Minnesota Historical and Cultural Heritage Grant and assistance from the Central Minnesota Arts Board Teaching Artists Roster Program. An ecologically-mindful exhibit featuring art made out of trash and materials derived from trees. On June 15th at 6:15 pm, Vas Littlecrow Colón-Ortiz y Wojtanowicz, Loki Wojtanowicz, Chinyin Cheu, Gnomie Johnson, and Jonathan Wilson will be introducing the works featured in our case exhibit at the St. Cloud Library, “Treasured Trash And Terrific Trees”. All objects in this exhibits are made of paper, recycled wood and lyrical trash, to showcase the possibilities of ecologically-mindful creativity. No previous writing experience needed.You'll learn how to feel comfortable with discomfort as you write. You will engage in play and reflection as you explore beautiful natural surroundings. Learn how to channel your creativity and mind-body connection to unleash the spirit of your authentic voice.This one-day retreat for folks 13 and older is designed and facilitated by LGBTQIA+ Global Majority neurodivergent folks to be inclusive. Warner Lake Nature Center is wheelchair accessible and close to St. Cloud, MN. Writing supplies, instructional packets, crafting materials, Mind Body Spirit Gifts goodie bags, snacks and catered meals are included in the price of admission. Pets and children under the age of 13 will not be allowed in the building during this event. All mobile devices must be silenced and put away while in the building.
